Maintenance Officer – Cranbrook School – Bellevue Hill

Cranbrook School is seeking an experienced and energetic maintenance officer to join their successful and friendly team.
About the Maintenance Team
The Maintenance Team is the part of the Facilities and Services Department which is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of all internal and external built structures of the School.
Planned and preventative maintenance is paramount in ensuring all facilities are functional and in good working order.
Presentation is equally important, not only in ensuring that Cranbrook School is shown to be a world class institution and that the heritage site is valued and kept to the highest possible standard, but also ensuring that parents of prospective students see the school in a positive light when entering the campus.
Pride and a sense of ownership in the buildings and their surroundings are the overriding requirement for the entire department.
Key Responsibilities of the role
Preparation for major events, set-up of furniture and equipment
Pavement and drain cleaning
Distribution of deliveries inwards and outwards
Lifting of stores and other material
Maintenance repair for all school campuses and associated works for periodic renovations and programmed maintenance including relocating furniture.
Some painting, easing and adjusting doors.
Ensure access for sub-contractors as directed by the Maintenance Manager.
Ensure that all work is carried out so as not to interfere with the various school activities and the safety of school operations.
Participate in work programs to achieve the most efficient utilisation of employees and equipment.
Ensure that the maintenance facilities and equipment are serviced and maintained to a high standard.
Pride in workmanship and professional attitude in completing assigned tasks.
Able to work as part of a team and independently.
Able to maintain appropriate level of health and fitness to meet the operational demand of the school site and lifting.
Organised, structured and able to prioritise competing tasks to achieve operational demands

Skills & Qualifications
Sound knowledge of general maintenance and repairs to buildings.
Experience in a similar role.
Familiarity with the Occupational Health and Safety Act as it relates to the school sites and WorkCover General Induction for Construction Work in NSW
Current Driver’s Licence with a good driving record
Working with children check (will be required for the successful applicant) which can be processed online.
